Goal
[translated] Waste prevention has top priority in Vienna's environmental policy Growing amounts of waste with increasingly complex contents not only pose great challenges for municipal waste management, but above all reflect the "material prosperity" of our civilised society through increased consumption of natural resources. To counteract this trend and to give new impetus to its pioneering role in the field of sustainable environmental policy, the City of Vienna has decided to give high priority to waste prevention in the coming years. The initiative "Naturally Less Waste" promotes and supports pioneering and exemplary projects and activities that contribute to the conservation of valuable resources or to sustainable lifestyles and behaviour.
