Name
LIFE Desert-Adapt -(Portugal) Preparing desertification áreas for increased climate change
country
Portugal
Goal
This project aims to, within a 5 year period (2017-2022) "apply MAD (Desertification Adaptation Models) in 10 pilot areas in Portugal, Spain and Italy, in order to develop innovative strategies and technologies adapted to climate change, which has severely and negatively affected the Mediterranean region. The project is expected to benefit mainly local landowners at the socio-economic level, by promoting and supporting the implementation of practical measures that contribute to the improvement of land use management and consequently to the mitigation of climate change, thus creating more resilient societies."
