Goal
LiberoMondo is a cooperative that has been promoting the principles of fair trade since 1997 by supporting communities of producers in the South of the world and creating employment opportunities in Italy especially for people excluded from normal employment circuits. The cooperative, supported by 170 members, operates along two main lines: import and distribution of products through the fair trade channel and processing activities, through the management of its own food production workshop. In carrying out its activities, the cooperative buys directly from producers in the Global South, paying a fair price and pre-financing (at least partially) imports. LiberoMondo is also committed to guaranteeing fair trade information to consumers, starting with transparent pricing, and to providing more extensive information, especially focused on fair trade and critical consumption issues.
