Goal
[translated] Over six weekends, the citizens of the Climate Council developed answers to key questions about the future: How do we want to get around? Where do we get our energy from? How do we have to feed ourselves in order to protect the planet? With the Climate Council, the population is showing politicians the way. The citizens were supported by scientists from various disciplines who contributed the current state of research. The results were handed over to the federal government in mid-2022. The goal is a climate-friendly Austria - and thus climate neutrality - by 2040. Incidentally, the Austrian Climate Council is not the only one in Europe: In many other countries - in Germany, for example, in spring 2021 - citizens have come together to discuss climate measures.
