Heat-column
country

Goal
Heat-column: an appropriate heating solution for people living in energy poverty. Habitat's innovative program was created to respond to this need. Specialists developed the Heat-column, a cost- and energy-efficient wood-burning stove designed by combining traditional Hungarian tile stoves and Scandinavian technology. During the winter of 2021-22, 5 Heat-columns were built for low-income families in a small village in southern Hungary. The new heaters will consume half the amount of firewood that was used before in the old heaters.
