Name
Falling Fruit Ireland - Urban Harvesting Project
website
country
Ireland
Goal
The aim is to set up Falling Fruit groups around Dublin and around the country to harvest the surplus fruit and vegetables locally and distribute them to those in need in the local community -it is about getting fresh fruit to local people who otherwise wouldn’t have access to it. One of the aims of Falling Fruit is to highlight the huge distances our food usually travels before it reaches our mouths. Falling Fruit also aims to reduce the urban carbon footprint by encouraging the use of local food and supporting more local growing, cultivation and harvesting.
